Before the failed five attempts on the life of Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) Lieutenant Charl Kinnear in November 2019, alleged underworld figure Nafiz Modack had sent a picture of the policeman and his home to Amaal Jantjies, who is accused of orchestrating the hand grenade attack on Kinnear’s home.
Kinnear knew of this before the failed hand grenade incident at his home in Bishop Lavis on 23 November 2019. The next attack on Friday, 18 September 2020 outside his home was lethal.
This evidence and further voice recordings relating to the five assassination attempts on Kinnear in November 2019 are contained in the affidavit compiled by Warrant Officer Trevor Thomas Shaw. ....

Alleged underworld kingpin 'Mr X', Nafiz Modack, ch...

Initially, former rugby player Zane Kilian was the sole accused arrested shortly after the murder of Kinnear on 18 September 2020. On Friday, 14 May, Modack, appearing in the Blue Downs regional court, was added to the charge sheet.
Modack will now appear alongside Kilian, Jacques Cronje, Ricardo Anthony Morgan, Janick Adonis, Amaal Jantjies and Ashley Tabisher in a consolidated indictment handed to the court.
The indictment consists of 62 charges and is a combined summary of incidents relating to the failed hand grenade attack on Kinnear’s home on 23 November 2019, his assassination, the failed hit on the life of criminal lawyer William Booth on 9 April 2020 as well as the pinging of both the cell phones of Booth and Kinnear and 21 other individuals. ....

Cape Town - Alleged underworld boss Nafiz Modack is a humanitarian who feeds thousands of people every day, and not a murderer or criminal, say his supporters, some of whom flew from as far as Pretoria to support him during his appearance in the Cape Town Magistrateâs Court on Friday.

Cape Town - Alleged underworld crime boss Nafiz Modack and an Anti-Gang Unit (AGU) member were in the dock on Tuesday on charges relating to a failed hand grenade attack at AGU Commander Lieutenant Charl Kinnear’s home.
They also face corruption charges, while Modack is facing attempted murder charges for Kinnear’s wife, Nicolette, and her two sons.
The duo appeared at the Bishop Lavis Magistrate’s Court.
The appearance was met with high police and media presence following a whirlwind and mammoth investigation by crime intelligence teams led by the Hawks. ....
