Get out and about again with Leyburn's Restart Programme

WITH the objective of getting people of Wensleydale back out into the community, details of activities in the Leyburn Restart Programme have been released.
Funded by North Yorkshire County Council via the Community Hubs, the Restart Programme signposts people to the increasing number of activities now available.
Taking place mostly at the Leyburn Arts Centre, there is a vast choice of varied and interesting activities for those starved of either culture or company.
Get started with the Wednesday Walking Group, a circular walk of between three and five miles. Meet at the centre ready for a prompt 10am departure. Social distancing, with separate groups of no more than six, is strictly observed, all for a £2 donation, although dogs are not allowed. ....

Mum's joy at six-and-a-half stone weight loss

WITH everything 2020 has involved, a mum of two has made a lifestyle change to the good.
In common with many other groups, since March, Slimming World has been virtual with meetings held using Zoom. Despite this, Helen Dinsdale, a 32-year-old mum of two from Aysgarth has lost an incredible six and a half stones with Slimming World and is very close to hitting her target.
Explaining her weight loss journey, Ms Dinsdale said: “Last Christmas I was at an all-time low. I was really struggling with my weight and this was making me so unhappy.
“None of my sparkly Christmas dresses fitted and I felt so uncomfortable in anything other than leggings and a baggy top. ....
