Lakehead nursing student receives national scholarship
The Medavie Scholarship awards exceptional post-secondary students pursing careers in health care across Canada.

Grace Dawson, a nursing student with Lakehead University, was awarded the 2020 Medavie Scholarship.
The Medavie Foundation awards $50,000 in scholarships every year to 10 exceptional students across Canada between the ages of 17 and 29-years-old who are enrolled in a post-secondary school, pursing a health related program, and have overcome adversity related to mental health either through lived experience of a family member.  
At a time when the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the lives and educational experiences of youth across the country, we were pleased this year to increase the number of scholarship recipients from two to 10. These young Canadians were selected based on their academic achievements and effo ....
