Taipei, May 13 (CNA) The Taipei District Court on Thursday issued an order for the detention of a Taiwanese food delivery worker, who is the main suspect in the death a Vietnamese woman in the city the previous day.

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) A Vietnamese masseuse has died from an apparent knife attack in her apartment in Taipei s red-light district.
A Vietnamese woman in her 40s was found dead in an apartment building on Linsen North Road in Taipei City s Zhongshan District on Wednesday (May 12). The body of the woman, who is surnamed Li (黎), was found by her boyfriend in the bathroom, with what has been confirmed to be a knife wound across her throat.
The incident took place at No. 409 Linsen North Road in a 12-story mixed-use residential and commercial building, reported Liberty Times. In addition to rental suites, the structure also holds offices, massage parlors, and hotels. ....

Patrons at a restaurant in Taipei, were recently shocked to see cockroaches crawling all over the place after thousands of them were released on the premises by two masked men.
On May 4th, two masked men entered the G House Taipei restaurant holding large bags filled with over 1,000 cockroaches, which they simply released at the reception desk on the second floor of the establishment, before fleeing the scene. Roaches started crawling on the floor, walls and furniture, and it wasn’t long before patrons enjoying their meals there started noticing them as well. Among the diners were policemen Taipei Police Department who were attending a banquet there, and they immediately created a task force to catch the perpetrators. ....

Taipei prosecutors yesterday indicted six police officers as well as five executives and staff from nightclubs in Taipei’s Zhongshan District (中山) in a probe into alleged corruption, where the officers are accused of taking bribes to protect a sex trade business.
The officers were charged with “taking bribes in breach of official duties” and related offenses, as well as contravening the Anti-Corruption Act (貪污治罪條例), the prosecutors said. ....

TAIPEI (Taiwan News) Two men dressed in black tossed bags filled with more than 1,000 cockroaches at a banquet attended by Taipei and New Taipei police commissioners on Monday evening (May 3).
Taipei City Wolong Street Police Station hosted the dinner at G House Taipei banquet hall on Xinsheng North Road in Taipei s Zhongshan District. There were 70 tables and more than 700 guests, including Taipei Police Department Commissioner Chen Jia-chang (陳嘉昌) and New Taipei Police Department Commissioner Huang Tsung-jen (黃宗仁).
At around 7:24 p.m., two men dressed in black dumped the bags of cockroaches at the reception desk on the second floor of the establishment, before fleeing the scene, reported CNA. ....
