Kirksville man gets kidnapping, domestic assault charges after home incident

A Kirksville man was arrested last week following a domestic violence incident where he pulled out a knife. 
Damien Patterson, 36, was charged with one count of kidnapping-inflicting injury and one count of third-degree domestic assault. 
Kirksville Police were called to his residence near the 1900 block of North Osteopathy in the early hours of March 5 regarding a domestic disturbance. Court records say they were advised that he was armed with a knife and that a woman was bleeding from her hands. 
Police knocked on the door and announced “Police” several times with no answer. One officer went to the back of the residence and said he could see fresh blood on the floor.  ....
