How new cities are grappling with lack of funds

Lack of staff structures and funding from the central government continue to cripple the operations of the newly-created cities, Daily Monitor has learnt.

IUIU student in Mbale dies during curfew enforcement


The tragic accident happened near Grace Primary school, along Mbale- Bufumbo road at 9 pm in Mbale City during police’s high-speed chase of a Boda Boda rider over violating curfew.
However, the Officer- In- Charge of Mbale Central Police Station, Arafat Kato said the deceased got involved in an accident while running away from police officers, who were on a night operation.
The deceased identified as 27-year old Ibrahim  Mudoma who was pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Education was also riding a motorcycle on his way home in Nabweya cell in Northern City Division when the incident occurred.
Rehema Katono, the IUIU Public Relations Officer confirms that the deceased was a student at the university. ....
