Pediatric Mental Health Sensory Room In The Works For Northern Lights Regional Health Centre

The Northern Lights Health Foundation is working on a project to better support mental health.
They’re currently collecting funds to create a pediatric mental health sensory room at the Northern Lights Regional Health Centre.
It will be used to help children establish schedules, finish homework, and control emotions, while also including gaming components for individual play, touch, and sound help.
“They need to be able to help kids self-regulate and understand the sensory triggers that are setting them off in either the school place or maybe a home setting,” said Cindy Amarongen, Executive Director of the NLHF. ....

Lights at Royal Garden Raises Nearly 10K For Charity

The Northern Lights Health Foundation is receiving a big donation thanks to a Christmas Light display.
The Lights at Royal Garden, a light show set up by the Tupper family at their house in Thickwood, put on their annual elaborate show every night over the holiday season.
The display collected $9,794 in support of the NLHF.
Over 15,000 residents took in the show, which is free for all to view but donations were accepted for charity.
“The generosity of this community never ceases to amaze me,” said Jon Tupper, co-creator of the Lights at Royal Garden. ....
