North Queensland continues to cop a beating from ex-tropical cyclone Imogen as forecasters warn there is still a risk of life-threatening flash flooding on Wednesday. The Bureau of Meteorology warns that, at 6.25 pm, severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Ipswich, Crows Nest, the area north of Kingaroy and the area southwest of Esk. They are forecast to affect Esk, Kingaroy and the area between Boonah and Beaudesert by 6.55 pm and the area south of Esk, the area west of Kilcoy and the area northeast of Kingaroy by 7.25 pm. Damaging winds and heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding are likely. ....

Premium Content Subscriber only The Bureau of Meteorology has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for people in Herbert and Lower Burdekin and parts of North Tropical Coast and Tablelands, Northern Goldfields and Upper Flinders, Central Coast and Whitsundays. Severe thunderstorms with heavy rainfall that may lead to flash flooding could hit the warning area over the next several hours. BOM advises Charters Towers, Ingham, Innisfail, Pentland, Collinsville, Mingela, Woodstock, Babinda, Abergowrie and Clare. Bowen and Proserpine are on the edge of the warning area.
