New research by global travel services expert Collinson has found that more than four-fifths of business travellers in the UAE and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) have seen their job affected in some way by a lack of cross-border business travel, and around one third specifically said that they feel unable to do their job effectively. 
 
It is commonly thought that business travel recovery will be slower to pick-up than leisure travel, due to businesses continuing to function during the pandemic without travel. Yet, as a further one third of business travellers in the UAE and KSA say that not being able to travel for business has made them less productive, these new findings demonstrate the economic importance of cross-border business travel for the GCC. ....

New research by global travel services expert Collinson has found that more than four-fifths of business travellers in the UAE and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) have seen their job affected in some way by a lack of cross-border business travel, and around one third specifically said that they feel unable to do their job effectively.

Majority of UAE, Saudi travellers now prioritise mental well-being: Collinson survey


Dubai: More travellers in the UAE (76 per cent) and Saudi Arabia (80 per cent) place as much emphasis on their mental wellbeing when they fly out now.
Despite pent up demand, a majority of travellers (62 per cent in the UAE and 67 per cent in KSA) think travel post-pandemic will be more stressful in the current climate. When asked what travel brands could do to help the situation, 38 per cent of travellers said they would value incentives from providers that prioritise their mental wellbeing, according to a survey by Collinson, the travel services firm.
Travellers also highlighted additional services that they would be willing to pay for to improve their wellbeing at the airport. These included spaces such lounge access - 37 per cent said they would pay for this in Saudi Arabia while 30 per cent of UAE respondents would pay for a quiet place to sit and relax. And 18 per cent in the UAE and 28 per cent in the Kingdom would pay extra for access to airport sleep pods. ....

While physical wellbeing has been at the forefront of all discussions around the recovery of the travel sector, new research from global traveller experiences expert Collinson has found that travellers are as worried about their mental wellbeing as they are their physical wellbeing.
 
Societal awareness and the importance of mental health has increased sharply over the past few years and this is no different when it comes to travel. When travelling in the future, 76 per cent of travellers in the UAE and 80 per cent in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) have said they’ll be prioritising their mental wellbeing more when they travel now than they did before Covid-19.  ....
