RSPCA WA Bushfire statement
The below is an update on the unfolding situation at RSPCA WA, as the bushfire in Perth’s north-east continues to threaten lives and homes.
RSPCA WA’s Animal Care Centre in Malaga remains on bushfire advice alert. Because of the possibility of evacuation from our shelter, we have been unable to offer emergency boarding for animals from evacuated or lost houses to date. We will review this once the threat to our Animal Care Centre passes.
RSPCA WA’s representative on the Committee for Animal Welfare in Emergencies was present at the incident management centre in Mundaring yesterday and our inspectorate and animal services representatives are taking part in the State Recovery Coordination Group. They will offer whatever assistance RSPCA WA can provide to animals in need – as we always have. ....
