New Delhi: GST officers will immediately suspend registration of taxpayers whose sales return or GSTR-1 forms show “significant differences or anomalies” from the return filed by their suppliers, a move aimed at curbing tax evasion and safeguarding revenue.
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs has issued a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for suspension of registration of a person on observance of such discrepancies/anomalies which indicate violation of the GST Act. ....

Somalilandsun: Staff from Somaliland Ministry of Finance Inland Revenue district offices in Hargeisa were trained on how to use online tools to register taxpayers and process their tax filings.
The Inland Revenue department is using digital systems to make taxpayer administration and services more efficient and accountable. The systems enable tax officials to easily register taxpayers, update their details, and assist them in processing their tax returns.
The Ministry of Finance Development is working to modernize tax administration, with support from the UK-funded Prosperity from Revenue (PROFR) programme, implemented by Oxford Policy Management. ....
