aflynn@lakeplacidnews.com LAKE PLACID After taking the weekend off, construction crews upgrading Main Street plan to continue their excavation of the water main from Monday to Friday, May 10 to 14, according to Haley Breen, community development director for the town of North Elba and village of Lake Placid. After installing the 16-inch water line, working from the north end of the village, workers pressure-test and disinfect the new line before connecting service to the buildings. The target area this week is from Saranac Avenue to Hayes Street. This week, workers began installing stormwater drainage on Parkside Drive, working toward Mirror Lake Drive, and that section of Parkside Drive was closed for the week. Mirror Lake Drive was also closed from Saranac Avenue to Swiss Road for several days beginning May 3 for pavement removal. ....

Sections of the water main will be chlorinated and pressure tested from Saranac Avenue to the Great Adirondack Brewing Company.
