In important news for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) students of classes 9 to 12, the Board has introduced new changes to its assessment and evaluation process for the next academic session 2021-2022. This is in line with the New Education Policy.
The CBSE released the new evaluation criteria on April 22 that mentions that the Board is moving towards Competency-Based Education (CBE) where questions will assess the application of concepts in real-life or unfamiliar situations. These will be part of the question papers of Classes 10, 12 board exams, and the final exams of classes 9 and 11.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced new changes to its assessment and evaluation process for the next academic session 2021-2022. The new evaluation criteria released by the CBSE on April 22 explains the further changes in accordance with the board s move to Competency-Based Education (CBE).
While the overall marks and duration of examination shall remain the same, a greater number of competency-based questions or questions that assess the application of concepts in real-life/ unfamiliar situations will be part of the question paper.
