Waterford skatepark committee reaches $100G mark

A Waterford committee recently passed an important milestone in its quest to bring a skateboard park to town.
The Waterford Skateboard Park Committee announced Thursday it has surpassed $100,000 in donations and pledges toward the $500,000 facility. The committee’s fundraising goal is $300,000. Once that is achieved, Norfolk County will release its commitment of $200,000.

“We have done well,” says chair Kerry Bockenhold. “We’re hoping to get going next spring but we’re not putting a time-line on it because we don’t know the COVID-19 time-line. We want everyone to be safe first, then we will continue. Together, we’re going to get through this. Then we’ll build the skate park.” ....
