A 57 million euro whiskey maturation facility is planned for Waterford.
Waterford Council has granted planning permission to Stafford Bonded – a family business based in Wexford – which intends to develop the store at Waterford Airport Business Park.
Once it is fully developed, the store will include 38 warehouses to store maturing whiskey, as well as offices and meeting rooms.
Michael Stafford Jnr, managing director of Stafford Bonded, welcomed the council’s decision to allow the development of the whiskey facility to begin.
He told the Sunday Independent that the first phase of development, which will include eight warehouses, is to start immediately. He also said the development would create jobs. ....
