Drugs Control admn takes measures to maintain hassle free supply of COVID drugs

JAMMU, Apr 29: To ensure the smooth and hassle free availability of Covid Management Drugs in the Pharma Distribution Channels, the Drug Control Officers under the direct supervision of Assistant Drugs Controller, Jammu carried out simultaneous surprise inspections in and around the tertiary care hospitals and the Covid Designated Hospitals in Jammu.
The primary objective and focus of the constituted teams was to ensure that the Covid Management/allied Life Saving Drugs are sold strictly as per the mandate of law and to curb unnecessary panic buying & hoarding of such medicines in the large patient care.
The teams of the Drug Control Officers during these surprise inspections observed that some pharma dealers were engaged and indulging in panic sale of Covid Management & other Life Saving Medicines to the customers. ....

Beware of frauds related to life-saving and other drugs, says SBI

The countryâs largest lender State Bank of India (SBI) has observed that there have been attempts by fraudsters to woo individuals to buy life saving medicines. In this process, the culprit asks the victim to transfer money into their bank account.
SBI is asking people not to fall prey to such attempts of fraudsters.
Taking cognisance of this fact the public sector bank has taken to microblogging site to inform people about this issue. The Bank tweeted, âPlease ensure to verify the authenticity of the beneficiary you are dealing with before making any payment.â ....

This comes amid the surge in cases during the second wave of the pandemic
The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has directed its field officers to clear all import consignments, including life-saving drugs and oxygen equipment, used in Covid treatment on the highest priority amid a surge in infections across the country.
The CBIC said the decision is aimed at ensuring that all such materials and equipment reach the intended beneficiaries within the shortest possible time.
CBIC has given directions to all its field formations to clear these consignments on the highest priority, the board said in a tweet. ....
