Leader of the Reason Party in Victoria Fiona Patten says she supported extending the state of emergency even though she doesn t “think it is necessary”.
“I don’t think it is necessary however I think what we need to do is that we need specific legislation that deals with the pandemic so we’re not constantly living in a rolling declaration of a state of emergency,” she told Sky News host Chris Kenny.
Ms Patten said extending the declaration until December saved time as if it were extended on a monthly basis there was would be a need to “debate whether we needed to self-isolate people” every month. ....
