Other SCHD COVID-19 vaccine clinic locations will remains open, including mobile clinics and the main community clinic at the former Wichita Public Library at 223 South Main in Wichita. The last days of the drive through clinic will be June 10th, 17th, and 24th from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for people aged 12 and older with mobility difficulties or with medical advice to avoid large vaccine clinics due to medical risk. ....

Wichita Public Library opens early enrollment for “Tails & Tales” Summer Reading Program for kids The Wichita Public Library’s 2021 Summer Reading Program, “Tails and Tales” begins June 1st and runs through July 29th, with early enrollment kicking off on Monday, May 17th. The annual program enrolls more than 10,000 kids and teens who commit to reading through the summer. “Tails and Tales” is designed to combat the “Summer Slide,” where children and teens experience a learning loss over the summer break, and aims to keeps their minds active through reading and other activities during the time away from school. Children and teenagers who enroll in the program will receive a Summer Reading Guide or summer reading log sheet, for which they’ll receive prizes at different completion levels. ....
