Published April 12, 2021, 9:39 PM Over 1 million low-income people affected by the imposition of the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) in the National Capital Region (NCR)-plus have received their one-time financial assistance amounting to more than P1 billion, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said Monday evening, April 12. Citing the report from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) dated April 10, the DSWD said more than P1.1-billion supplemental aid for ECQ areas has been distributed during the April 7 to 9 payouts. “Based on the April 10 report from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), covering the payouts from April 7 to 9, more than P1.1 billion has already been distributed to over 1 million beneficiaries from the National Capital Region, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal,” it said in a statement. ....

Together with the members of Task Group Face Mask, the DSWD turned over the masks to Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte in a simple ceremony on Tuesday.
DSWD Undersecretary for Inclusive and Sustainable Peace Rene Glen Paje led the delivery of 200,000 surgical face masks and 33,800 reusable face masks.
The provision of face masks under the “Libreng Mask Para sa Masa” program is pursuant to Memorandum Order 49, “Directing All Concerned Government Agencies to coordinate and pool their resources and efforts into the production and distribution of face masks.”
DSWD, as a member of the task group, leads the distribution of the face masks to local government units based on the list of Social Amelioration Program (SAP) beneficiaries. ....

However, upon checking the 9,104 payroll file of 2nd tranche of the 1st tranche paid beneficiaries (unsuccessful transactions of Paymaya) and the 5,490 list of unclaimable transactions of Paymaya due to data quality issues, all clients were excluded,” Tiangco said in his letter. ....
