A.P. govt. postpones Intermediate examinations

A new schedule will be released once the pandemic situation eases, says Minister
Education Minister A. Suresh on Sunday announced the postponement of Intermediate examinations, which was scheduled to commence on May 5, owing to the spurt in the coronavirus infections in the State.
“It has been decided to put the Intermediate examinations on hold as advised by the High Court. A fresh schedule will be released once the pandemic situation improves,” a release quoted the Education Minister as saying.
Mr. Suresh observed that some States had either completed the SSC and 10+2 examinations or were in the process. The examinations had been cancelled some other States too and pass certificates issued in the absence of uniform guidelines in this regard from the Central government. ....

People between the ages of 18 and 45 have registered for the vaccine on the CoWIN website.
In the last three days, AP has received three lakh doses of Covishield and one lakh doses of Covaxin
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government cannot administer the Covid-19 vaccine to people aged 18 to 45 years old from May 1st due to inadequate supply. However, the ongoing programme to the already targeted beneficiaries with the current doses will continue.
Unlike the previous practice of establishing Covid Vaccination Centers and setting a time schedule between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. to start a vaccination campaign for healthcare professionals, frontline workers, and people aged 45 to 60 years, no such plans have been made for Saturday. However, people between the ages of 18 and 45 are still registering for the vaccine on the CoWIN website. ....

Vijayawada: The Patamata police of Vijayawada had arrested a seven-member gang on Tuesday for selling Remdesivir injections on the black market. Government making efforts to ensure oxygen supply: Minister

People urged not to venture out unless for important work
Minister for Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Kodali Sri Venkateswara Rao has said the State government is making all efforts to ensure the supply of medical oxygen and Remdesivir for COVID patients as the demand is growing.
Mr. Rao along with Minister Perni Venkataramaiah MLAs and officials reviewed COVID situation in the district on Monday.
Mr. Venkataramaiah said all the COVID treatment and management protocols set by the government were being followed by the district administration. He appealed to the people not to venture out unless there was important work and help the government fight the COVID spread. ....
