Hindi remake of Malayalam hit ‘Drishyam 2 - The Resumption’ has been announced with Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak’s Panorama Studios International acquiring the remake rights. The first part of the thriller also got a Bollywood remake as ‘Drishyam’ starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Shriya Sara in the lead. While the makers have announced the remake, the cast is yet to be unveiled.
With the huge success of ‘Drishyam 2’, the story needs to be told with passion and commitment and we as Producers are committed to that, said Kumar Mangat Pathak in a statement. Director of the original Malayalam ‘Drishyam 2’, Jeethu Joseph shared, “The story of ‘Drishyam 2’ resonated with people and I am so glad that Panorama Studios will make it reach to a wider audience with the Hindi remake. The 2015 thriller

A remake of the 2013 Malayalam film of the same name, in the film, the protagonist, Vijay Sargaonkar, is shown to be a cinema buff who gets ideas of deceiving the cops through movies. The makers of the film, however, would not have thought that 5 ½ years later, someone would get inspired from
Drishyam while committing a heinous crime.
On Thursday January 14, the Boisar police arrested 34-year-old Suraj Harmalkar for allegedly killing his girlfriend in October 2020 in his rented flat in Vangaon, Palghar. Shockingly, the alleged killer hid the body in the bathroom loft of this flat and even cemented it to avoid a foul smell. ....
