An art programme highlighting cultures of Vietnam’s ethnic groups took place at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in Hanoi’s outskirts on April 16 to mark the Vietnam Ethnic Group Cultural Day.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung said cultural development is viewed as one of the most important factors to ensure the country’s sustainable growth.
The Party and State have issued various policies on cultural development, including the conservation and development of traditional cultural identities, he added.
Hung voiced a belief that traditional cultural values of 54 ethnic groups will continue to be upheld and developed, becoming an endless source of resources and a driver of the sustainable development of the country. ....

NDO – A colourful art programme was staged at the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism in the Dong Mo tourism area of Son Tay Town, Hanoi, on April 16 to celebrate Vietnam Ethnic Group Cultural Day (April 19).
The event featured songs and dances recalling the national construction and defence while praising the Vietnamese people’s solidarity, national pride and efforts to preserve the cultural identities of its 54 ethnic groups.
Speaking at the event, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung reminded the audience that on November 17, 2008, the Prime Minister issued a decision assigning April 19 as the Vietnam Ethnic Group Cultural Day. ....
