“I’m extremely proud and thrilled that Harvey Bischof has joined us today,” said Horwath. “Having folks like Harvey shows us how important public education is to New Democrats.”
Bischof, 57, a retired high school teacher, was president of the OSTTF from 2017 to 2021.
“I am genuinely excited to join Andrea’s team,” Bischof said in front of a group of supporters on the front lawn of North Park Collegiate in Brantford. “I have spent much of my professional life advocating for Ontario’s publicly funded education system, it’s students and the educators who nurture those students’ futures. I’ve long understood that public education is an investment, not an expense.”
