Shooting of Stray Dogs Banned in Islamabad
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration have decided to ban the shooting of stray dogs in Islamabad.
The Chief Commissioner and CDA Chairman, Amer Ali Ahmed, chaired a meeting at the CDA headquarters on Monday to discuss solutions to controlling the population of stray dogs without shooting them.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hamza Shafqaat, Advocate Owais Awan, CDA officers, representatives of non-profit organizations, and animal lovers.

No stray dog to be shot in Islamabad - Newspaper

ISALMABAD: City managers on Monday decided that there will be no more dog shootings in Islamabad.
The decision was taken in a meeting held at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters with Chief Commissioner and CDA Chairman Amer Ali Ahmed in the chair.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Hamza Shafqaat, CDA officers, representatives from non-profit organisations and pet lovers.
“Shooting has been stopped forever,” Mr Shafqaat told Dawn, adding it has been decided that municipal by-laws will be amended to remove the clause stating elimination of dogs.
