Polling for AJK election held amidst complaints of rigging in Punjab - Pakistan

LAHORE: Polling for Azad Jammu & Kashmir Legislative Assembly (AJKLA) seats in Punjab was held on Sunday mainly peacefully amid complaints of rigging and mismanagement. However, two political workers were injured in Gujrat while a candidate suffered an injury in Shorkot in minor clashes.
At least 25 polling stations had been set up in Lahore for two seats – LA-34 Jammu-I and LA-41 Valley-II. The numbers of total votes for the two seats was 9,131.
Stringent security arrangements had been made to ensure a peaceful atmosphere for the voters and 850 policemen, led by six deputy police officers (DSPs), were deployed outside the polling stations. ....

Dhaka, Feb 26 : The Police on Thursday charged baton on students of Home Economics College for blocking road from Nilkhet to Azimpur in Dhaka. The students were demonstrating demanding resumption of postponed exams.
The students at around 11:00 a.m. blocked the road raising their demands and then entered the college premises. The students said the suspension of exams has troubled many examinees who rented houses as the residential halls in Dhaka remain shut. ....
