Ministry of Rural Development Says 92% Target Achieved In 1st Phase Of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana Gramin


Under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana - Gramin (PMAY-G), a flagship programme of the Government of India, 92% target of completion has been achieved in the 1st phase of the scheme i.e. from 2016-17 to 2018-19. The government is confident that all the houses in the Permanent Wait List (PWL) would be completed by the end of Amrut Mahtosava. As against the existing Permanent Wait List (PWL) identified using the SECC database of 2011, as on date 2.14 crore beneficiaries have been found to be eligible. Though this list consisted of 2.95 crore households initially, through multistage verification including at the time of sanction, many more households have been found ineligible, therefore, this list has been pared down to 2.14 Cr. and likely to go down further. Against this, 1.92 crores (90%) houses have been sanctioned and against the sanctioned houses, 1.36 crore (71%) houses have been completed. With the economic recovery picking up pace and attractive home prices, analysts say it is a good time for investors to put in money in stocks of real estate companies. Those who have spare funds and are looking to invest, buying a residential property now can is also be a good option from a long-term perspective. Total Of 1.1 Crore Houses Approved Under PMAY(U) So Far


Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs said today that a total of 1.1 crore Houses have been approved under PMAY (U) so far. Construction of 1,68,606 new houses have been approved in the 52nd Meeting of the Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). 14 States/UTs participated in this meeting.
These houses are proposed to be constructed across the verticals of Beneficiary Led Construction, Affordable Housing in Partnership and In-Situ Slum Redevelopment. The states also put in their proposals for revision of projects due to various issues such as, of land, topographical hazards, inter-city migration, change of preferences of verticals etc. Construction is in various stages in more than 70 Lakh houses and more than 41 Lakh houses have been completed. ....
