Tararua District Lions is holding a Pop Up Shop at Bush Community Church in Pahiatua s Main St on Thursday, April 15 and Friday, April 16 from 10am to 4pm.
Proceeds are going to the Wellington Children s Hospital rehabilitation playscape area, where children from our area are treated, from 0-18 years of age.
Children can come from Gisborne to New Plymouth down to Wellington and the top part of the South Island, including Tararua District. Free accommodation can be made available for parents at Ronald McDonald House. ....

Havelock Lions spread the love with fundraiser for hospital playscape

Cameron said Havelock Lions was hoping to raise $1500 from the performance, to add to the $650 already raised from an earlier market.
The Havelock club, together with several other Lions clubs, have pledged a total of $500,000 for the construction of the specially designed therapeutic playscape at the Wellington Children’s Hospital, still under construction.

The Havelock Lions are putting on Love Letters at the Canvastown Hall on January 23.
Playscapes, with special sensory surfaces, had been used for some time by hospitals overseas for various therapies, and had proven to aid rehabilitation, and increase emotional states, social participation and well-being. ....
