Vietnam assumes United Nations Security Council presidency for second time

Vietnam began serving as president of the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) on Thursday.
This is the second time the Southeast Asian country has assumed the rotational month-long presidency during its 2020-21 tenure as a non-permanent member of the UNSC.
Vietnam will implement the foreign policy set out by the 13th National Party Congress, which lasted from January 25 to February 2, and focus on promoting multilateral foreign relations as well as comprehensive and extensive international integration, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh said the same day.

Vietnam will serve as United Nations Security Council (UNSC) president starting Thursday, its second time in the seat during the 2020-21 tenure.
"Vietnam's commitment in this term is 'being a partner for sustainable peace'," Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh said as Vietnam assumes the rotational month-long presidency.

Can Tho (VNA) - National Assembly Chairwoman and head of the National
Election Council Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan had a working session with the Steering Committee
for Elections of the Mekong Delta city of Can Tho on March 16.
It was reported at the session that
Can Tho has
set up 93 Election Committees at all levels, including one at municipal level,
nine at district level and 83 at communal level.
As of March 14, the city Election Committee had
received nomination documents of 15 candidates for the 15th NA election, and 108
candidates for the election of the municipal People’s Council in the 2021-2026

NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan
said the one-day meeting is to finalise
preparations for the upcoming 11th meeting of the 14th legislature and collect opinions on the draft reports on working performance of
