The President of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Volkan Bozkır, arrives in Dhaka early this morning on a two-day visit to hold meetings with top government leadership and discuss the Rohingya crisis and shared challenges.
He is scheduled to visit Rohingya camps in Cox’s Bazar to see for himself the plight of the forcibly-displaced Myanmar nationals, who took temporary shelter amid persecution, ethnic cleansing and genocide in Rakhine state.
According to the programme schedule, the UNGA president will arrive in Dhaka at 5:00am and will call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at 10:30am. ....

DHAKA, May 24, 2021 (BSS) – President of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Volkan Bozkir will arrive here tomorrow.
The UNGA President will be received by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, according to a press release sent by UN resident office here today.
Bozkir will hold a meeting with foreign minister Dr AK Abdul Momen at tomorrow noon at foreign service academy that will be followed by a press briefing.
The UNGA President will also deliver remarks to the Foreign Services Academy that will address the current international context – with a focus on global crises and emergencies – and reflect on the state of multilateralism and the United Nations system. ....

President of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) Volkan Bozkır is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina tomorrow to discuss global issues, including the Rohingyas.
He will arrive in Dhaka at 5:00am tomorrow on a brief visit. Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen will receive him at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
Bozkır will meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Gono Bhaban residence at 10:30 am before he meets with Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen which will be held at 12:30pm, according to a senior official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. ....

President of the 75th session of the United Nations General Assembly Volkan Bozkır will visit Bangladesh and Pakistan from May 25 to 27.
Looking forward to my upcoming official visit to Bangladesh and Pakistan on 25-27 May to discuss the multilateral system and shared challenges, he tweeted.
In Dhaka, Bozkir will be received by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen will also meet him during the visit.
