Sanwo-Olu: Lagos state government will partner Dangote foundation, others


Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Wednesday announced the State Government’s willingness to partner with Aliko Dangote Foundation and Germany-based company, VDMA for employment generation for Lagos youths.
The Governor also reiterated his administration’s commitment to partner with the private sector in order to empower and strengthen the teeming youths of the State.
He made the statement at the launch of the Aliko Dangote Foundation (ADF) – VDMA (German Association for Mechanical and Plant Engineering) Technical Training Programme, held at Eko Hotel, Victoria Island in Lagos on Wednesday.
The ADF-VDMA Technical Training Programme is a partnership training by the Aliko Dangote Foundation and a Germany-based organisation, aimed at empowering young Nigerian youths with technical knowledge and skills in the areas of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering. ....

Lagos State governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said that the state will get 20,000 slots out of 774,000 jobs for Nigerians across all the Local Government Areas in the country being offered by the Federal Government through its Extended Special Public Works (SPW) Programme.
The programme is being implemented through the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in collaboration with state governments and other relevant stakeholders.
Sanwo-Olu disclosed this at the official flag-off of the programme in the Federal Government, held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa-Ikeja, even as he called for increased allocation to the state, citing increasing population, attraction of Lagos, among others to all Nigerians with every village or town having it ....

After a protracted discussion among the stakeholders, the Federal Government today in Lagos finally launched the Extended Special Public Works (SPW) Programme (the 774,000 jobs) aiming at providing employment opportunities for the unemployed Nigerians.
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu speaking on Tuesday through his deputy, Dr. Kadri Obafemi Hamzat, at the official flag-off of the Programme held at the Adeyemi Bero Auditorium, Alausa-Ikeja, stated that the programme which is being implemented through the National Directorate of Employment in collaboration with State Governments and other relevant stakeholders will provide seven hundred and seventy-four thousand (774,000) jobs for Nigerians across all the local government areas out of which 20,000 will be in Lagos. ....
