A registered sex offender in the DeLand area has been charged with sexual battery on a child after a Volusia County Sheriff’s Office investigation into a tip about child pornography revealed he abused a young girl, according to officials from the Volusia County Sheriff s Office.In addition to sexual battery, Wes Brough, 48, of 3030 Marsh Road, DeLand, is also charged with failure to properly register as a sex offender and will be charged with possession of child porn, officials said.According to the report, during the investigation, detectives discovered photos and videos depicting a sexual performance by a child.Detectives with the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office Child Exploitation Unit were alerted to the case by a tip from the National Center ....
