KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Syed Hamzah Syed Paie, the political secretary to the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister, has lodged a police report against two news portals for falsely linking him to the approval of a ministry grant to his wife’s company. He said the police report was made against Malaysia Chronicles and Sarawak Report for spreading fake news and defaming him and Minister Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar. “The SME Corp grant totalling RM338,950 to my wife’s company Azzahra Product Sdn Bhd does not have any connection with Wan Junaidi as minister and I as his political secretary,” he told reporters after lodging the report at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters at 11 am today. ....
The so-called Ministry for Entrepreneur Development And Co-operatives (MEDAC) set up by the PH government in 2018 saw some brutal management changes shortly after the backdoor coup was staged early last year. MEDAC last year received a budget of some RM320 million, all of which was purportedly spent on deserving local entrepreneurs. SUBANG JAYA, April 26 The government targets to have a total of 50 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) under the Strategic Industries and High-Performance SME Improvement Programme (Prestige): Aerospace Manufacturing Initiative (AMI) by 2030. The programme is implemented by the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (Medac) through SME Corporation Malaysia. Medac minister, Datuk Seri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, said 30 SMEs had been involved in the programme since 2017, and 10 more SMEs were expected to be brought in this year. ....
The programme is implemented by the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry (MEDAC), through SME Corporation Malaysia. Apart from this achievement, the company had also obtained the quality management system certifications needed for the aerospace industry, including the AS9100 and NADCAP (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Programme) certifications, to fulfil the criteria for being a global aerospace component producer, Wan Junaidi said. ....
