Paid parking hours have been extended till 12 midnight in Sharjah for the holy month of Ramadan.
According to the Sharjah Municipality, the fees will have to be paid from 8am to 12am for using public parking spots. Usually, the paid parking hours are from 8am from 10pm.
This came as the civic body announced that it had completed all preparations for the advent of the holy month.

Sharjah has also taken proactive steps to cater to non-Muslims for the upcoming month of Ramadan, and has allowed restaurants to sell food during fasting hours.
The Food Control Section at Sharjah Municipality confirmed that it has already received a number of applications from food establishments to serve food to non-Muslim communities during the daytime for Ramadan.
The municipality also noted that it had suspended the issuance of permits allowing establishments to display food on tables in front of stores and food outlets during Ramadan this year. The move is part of the precautionary measures undertaken to preserve public health and safety. ....

Ramadan 2021: Sharjah restaurants to apply for permits to serve food to non-Muslims during fasting hours

“We are suspending this type of permit for the second year in a row to help stem the spread of Covid-19,” Ms Al Mualla said.
“A team of 45 inspectors will be conducting visits to ensure facilities adhere to regulations and refrain from displaying food during the holy month.”
She said 12,257 inspections were carried out last year.
“These resulted in issuing 70 warnings over improper food storage,” she said.
Until several years ago, cafes, restaurants and bars would be shut throughout the day across the UAE out of respect to Muslims who were fasting.
In recent years, measures have been relaxed.
Cafes and restaurants in malls and hotels were allowed to serve food with curtains or blinds drawn. ....
