Prayagraj: Amid the unrelenting and devastating second wave of the novel coronavirus that has gripped not only the city but also the whole country, the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has decided to postpone the process for admission in class I across the country. Without giving any fresh date pertaining to when the list of students, selected through lottery, would be declared by the 1,200 odd KVS spread in 25 regions of the country, the headquarter has said that the same would be done after April 30. KVS had given its green signal for online registration for admission to Class I (for the academic year 2021-22) from April 1. The registration, which opened at 10am on April 1 continued till 7pm on April 19.Likewise, registration for Class II and above was done from April 8 to April 15, subject to vacancies in the respective KVS. ....
Prayagraj: The authorities of the Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV), Varanasi region, which govern 36 KVs of the Eastern UP, have issued orders to close all these KV’s till April 30 given the rise in cases of Covid-19 over the past few days. Around 50 Covid-19 positive cases have been reported from different KVs of the region including nine schools of Prayagraj district. These include teachers, non-teaching staff and people outsourced by the KVs for various works. Given the increasing magnitude of the Covid-19 infection cases and the directives of the state government because of the present crises, the deputy commissioner (DC) of the Varanasi region, D Manivannan issued orders to close all the KVs under his jurisdiction till April 30. Prayagraj: In a huge respite to students unable to appear in the Class X and XII practical exams of Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) due to Covid-19 infection to themselves or in their family, the board has announced that they will get another chance to appear before June 11, 2021. Easing the worries of students amid the upsurge in Covid-19 cases, CBSE issued a circular, signed by controller of examination Sanyam Bharadwaj, stating students who have either themselves tested positive for the virus, or someone in their family is infected need not worry and their practical exams will be held later. ....
