Police arrest man for brandishing firearm at children, near school

–On Monday at approximately 1:50 p.m., officers of the Atascadero Police Department were dispatched to a report of a man with a rifle entering the creek behind Atascadero Junior High School. Officers arrived in the area and learned the suspect had approached a resident on Capistrano Avenue while holding what appeared to be a rifle. The suspect then fled into the creek bed. The Atascadero Junior High School and Atascadero Unified District Office were placed on lockdown due to their proximity to the incident.
Officers established a perimeter and began a search for the suspect in the creek. Officers ultimately contacted Arthur Castellanos who admitted to having a BB gun rifle. The BB gun was located at the scene. ....

Atascadero Junior High placed on temporary lockdown while police searched for brandishing suspect

ATASCADERO, Calif. Atascadero police arrested a firearm brandishing suspect on Monday afternoon.
On Monday at around 1:50 p.m., Atascadero police officers responded to reports of a man with a rifle entering the creek behind the Atascadero Junior High School.
Officers arrived on scene and found that the suspect had approached a resident on Capistrano Avenue while holding what they say appeared to be a rifle.
Police say the suspect then fled into the creek bed.
The Atascadero Junior High School and Atascadero Unified District Office placed a lockdown due to the closeness of the incident.
Officers established a perimeter and began a search for the suspect in the creek. ....

An arrest was made following an incident that placed Atascadero Junior High on lockdown Monday afternoon.
Atascadero police say they responded to the area after being notified around 1:50 p.m. of a man with a rifle seen entering the creek behind the school, which is located on the 6500 block of Lewis Ave.
Once on scene, police say a resident on Capistrano Avenue told them a man had approached them while holding what appeared to be a similar weapon before taking off toward the creek. ....

Local officials placed Atascadero Middle School on lockdown Monday afternoon after a man was walking nearby brandishing a BB gun that was initially thought to be a rifle.
Shortly before 2 p.m, a 911 caller reported a man with a rifle had entered the creek behind Atascadero Middle School. Officers arrived at the scene and were told the man had approached a resident on Capistrano Avenue while carrying a weapon that looked like a rife.
The suspect then fled toward the creek, according to the Atascadero Police Department. ....

Storm breaks rainfall record for Paso Robles

–Paso Robles continued to see heavy rainfall on Thursday and overnight until Friday morning. The rainfall total reported Friday morning in Paso Robles was 2.6-inches over a 24-hour period, which is nearly five times greater than the previous rainfall record set in 1981 of .46-inches. A similar amount reported Thursday morning brings the weekly total to more than 5 inches.
