Ernest Allen Nethken

Ernest Allen Nethken, 89, of Crossville, passed away on Tuesday, May 4, 2021.
He was born on July 22, 1931, to the late Norman and Margaret Nethken. He lived in Crossville for the past 22 years, after moving there from Cleveland. When he was in Cleveland, Ernest was a longtime member of Stanfield Baptist Church.
Ernest loved working on cars, listening to bluegrass music, drinking coffee and smoking his pipe. Above all things, he loved his family and spending time with them.
In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ida Collins Nethken; son-in-law, Tommy Layman; four brothers; two sisters; and one great-great-granddaughter, VB Rose Ellison. ....

Griefshare begins program in Stanfield

A 13-week, Christ-centered Griefshare support group began Tuesday, Jan. 19 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Stanfield Baptist Church, 310 E. Wheeler Ave. in Stanfield.
The program includes videos with experts and participants working through grief, a workbook, and group discussion. It brings help and encouragement after the death of a spouse, child, family member, or friend. A free workbook is provided.
