“It’s bad when a store closes and people get bumped out of sales, and I was thinking there may be a way we could help those people out,” said Max Furniture’s Rahim Khudabux.
Though he doesn’t know exactly what he can do, Khudabux said he would be willing to work with Stokes’ customers who lost deposits on furniture not delivered on an individual basis. He said he may be able to offer them some store credit for at least a portion of what they lost.
“At least I could give them something,” he said. “And maybe that helps save face for the industry as well as helping customers going through a tough time.” ....
