Chipolopolo will be all out motivated to continue with their unique ‘favour’ celebrations when the Sixth Edition of the Total African Nations Championship (CHAN) 2020 enters the second day of the knock-out stage on Sunday (31 January 2021).
Zambia will battle defending champions Morocco in a quarter-final match at the Reunification Stadium in Douala, Cameroon in what promises to be a thriller.
Besides the many different styles of celebration that have been on display at the competition, the
Chipolopolo have stood out with their simple but unique ‘favour’ celebrations.
When entering the pitch ahead of a match, the players and officials use the entry theme of putting their hands on their heads and when they score a goal they celebrate in the same style. The celebration style is called ‘favour’. ....

Zambia : Chipolopolo Stagger Into The CHAN Quarterfinals


Chipolopolo staggered to the 2021 CHAN quarterfinals for a huge date against defending champions Morocco following a 0-0 draw on Wednesday evening with Namibia in Limbe.
It was a disjointed display littered with misfiring offensive play but Zambia did enough to labour to a draw to finish second in Group D tied on 5 points with leaders Guinea to both advance to the last eight.
Namibia too had their problems and almost gifted Zambia an own-goal in the 38th minute when goalkeeper Ndisiro Kamaijanda collided with Pat-Nevin Uanivi while trying to clear the ball that fortunately rolled inches wide with both having their backs to goal. ....

Chan 2021: Sautu knew Zambia would recover and draw with Guinea


“No, I never felt like we would lose that game because football is played until the last whistle,” Sautu said as quoted by Zambia FA social media pages.
“So, for me, I kept on believing, no wonder when I came from the bench, I believed in myself until the last minute, and thank God the goal came.”
Sautu, who turns out for Zambian giants Power Dynamos, also said they have already shifted their focus to the clash against Namibia which will be staged on Wednesday.
“That game is not going to be easy because we know how Namibia plays,” Sautu continued. “They try to build on a quick game so for us, we will be ready for them because for us we cannot just give it away looking at where we are coming from. ....
