Wenchi High Court Clears Techiman South MP-Elect

The Wenchi High Court presided by Justice Fredrick Arnold Nawurah has quashed a restraining order filed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC) against the inauguration of Mr Martin Adjei-Mensah Korsah, as the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Techiman South Constituency.
The Party filed the injunction praying the court to restrain the inauguration of the MP-elect and challenged the validity and outcome of the parliamentary election results in the Constituency.
The petitioners accused the EC of manipulating collation of results in favour of the MP-elect, and believed their candidate Mr Christopher Baasongti Bayere, won the parliamentary seat in the just ended General Election. ....

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has raised concerns over the posture of the Electoral Commission (EC) towards issues raised by the various political parties after the 2020 elections.
The party said the Commissions has treated and continues to treat the NDC unfairly especially in reacting to issues the party have concerning the recently held elections.
In an interview on the
Point of View on Citi TV, the General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia said, “the EC has not treated the NDC fairly. It has not been impartial in the elections. When you have issues with elections, there are ways to address them. The EC after collating and declaring results in the Banda constituency granted the NPP its request for re-collation days after.” ....
