HARTFORD CITY, Ind. A Hartford City man faces a felony charge over allegations he struck a girl in her early teens.
Brian Reading, 58, is charged in Blackford Circuit Court with domestic battery resulting in bodily injury to a person less than 14 years of age, a Level 5 felony carrying up to six years in prison.
According to a Hartford City Police Department report, Reading is accused of hitting the child in the face on April 13.
Reading gave investigators an account of the incident different from that of his accuser and a witness, saying the child had charged at him, and denying that he struck her. ....
