Pageant, tree lighting and parade bring festive end to year

Madisyn Hollen, 15, Hillsboro, was crowned the Snowflake Queen; Paiton Pullin, 11, Hillsboro was the Snowflake Princess; Alaina Best, 9, Hillsboro, was Miss Snowflake; Evelyn (Eve) Gadwa, 5, Lynchburg was the Little Snowflake and Hallie Seip, 3, Hillsboro, was the Tiny Snowflake.
Grand marshals of the 2020 Annual Lighted Christmas Parade, the family of the late Joe Mahan, enjoyed a carriage ride during the festivities that were held on the evening of Dec. 12 in downtown Hillsboro. ....

On behalf of the Highland Amateur Radio Association, I want to express our members’ appreciation to the Hillsboro Uptown Business Association for sponsoring another successful and enjoyable parade through the uptown streets of Hillsboro to usher in the Christmas holiday.
I also want to thank those businesses, youth groups and other organizations who placed entries in the parade. Also recognition goes to the city of Hillsboro for allowing the event to happen during these unusual times.
