Regina city council unanimously passed a request for city administration to prepare a report on banning conversion therapy by bylaw in July.
After hearing from 35 members of the public, Regina city council voted unanimously to fast-track plans to draft a local bylaw banning conversion therapy.
The agenda for Wednesday s special council meeting, which was devoted entirely to the discussion around conversion therapy, originally requested city administration draft a bylaw report for the first quarter of next year. ....

Regina’s city council decided late Wednesday night that it would draft its own bylaw this year to potentially ban conversion therapy instead of waiting for a federal bill.
The meeting, which lasted close to 10 hours, saw two notable amendments to the motion before council.
