We have a selection of ex -Operational and current operational fire fighters, Fitness experts, and Interview Technique experts on hand to advise you on the selection process.. . Course aim – Is to assist you in getting through the selection process. We believe that this is the main objective, you can learn all about fire behavior if you get the job!. . • We will inform you about the fire service as a career, its different disciplines and how the organization operates. . . • We will assist you from the beginning by showing you the ‘relevant physical and educational preparation needed to suit this particular job.. . • We will give you detailed inside information on the’ equipment that is most commonly used’ in the fire service.. . • We assess your fitness, and then advise you on the fitness levels you must obtain to pass the process.. . • We will prepare you for the ‘aptitude tests’. First and second stage. We will arrange a station visit to an operational station.. . • We will instruct you on the fire service requirements for the work related testing i.e. - claustrophobia /Breathing Apparatus testing, working at heights/ladders, strength ,endurance and manual dexterity tests.. . • We will set a fire service aptitude test similar to the official test; we will grade the test and show you where you need to improve.. . . Duration 6 Class sessions + 1 gym session.. . • A general Familiarization with all aspects of the work of a fire fighter, how the calls come in, reaction times, turnouts, types of fire engines and other vehicles. (if you don’t know what you are applying for then how you can expect to win that job?) . . • Understanding fires and fire fighting terminology, equipment, Daily Routines and disciplines rank structure etc. . . • Light Medical training.. . • Inside information on the specialist sections of the fire service from the people on the front line- giving you a greater understanding of these aspects of the job that the general public would not be aware of. e.g. .RTA - Line rescue and confined space- B A (breathing apparatus) - -SRT (swift water rescue technician) and much more.. . • Expert guidance on Interview preparation & techniques to maximize your interview performance for any Fire-Fighter competition.. . • Be familiar with all the aptitude test question types. Information on how to prepare yourself for the aptitude testing.. . • Improve your interview skills and learn how to tackle the hard questions. Being physically fit is crucial to being selected as a trainee firefighter. There are a range of physical tests you will have to complete as part of the assessment process to becoming a firefighter.. We will simulate these tests for you to give you a realistic idea of what's ahead, if there are any difficulties on these tests for you, now is the time to iron them out, not on the day of your official test. .
