Detailed description is This community aimed to deliver and support open source concept. In the world of operating systems, there are two main categories of users. The first are those who use the system as a black box. Mainly, they use it for general everyday-purposes; they are called “Regular Users”. The second category is the users who know how the system works and how to edit and fix it; these users are called “Professional Users”.. . . . Faculty Students are supposed to be in the second category of users; so this activity aims to provide them with the material and the know-how required for them to reach that level. we selected LINUX as the main operating system for this activity because it has an array of beneficial characteristics; firstly it is an open source project and is the most mature of the open source projects, secondly LINUX enjoys a huge world-wide professional community involving users from both the Arab and international communities and last but not least LINUX is widely used in corporate and home environments.. . . . open source open minded also aims to teach students how to develop their own distributions and packages, which directly serves one of the main objectives of this activity which is developing a LINUX distribution for Our Faculty.. . . . Instructors will be provided giving sessions about open source and LINUX and recent developments in the “OPEN SOURCE” world
