Detailed description is The official facebook page of 1st Battalion, 78th Field Artillery Advanced Individual Training (AIT). Basic Training is over, and their MOS training begins: Day zero, (Fort Sill Graduates) Soldiers will arrive to 1-78 FA Bn directly after graduation from Basic Training to our Battalion area. The Soldiers will be placed in formation with their paperwork and bags. 1-78 will have Cadre/Instructors assisiting your Soldiers with inventory of their equipment. There is equipment that is required by 1-78 in order for your Soldier to be able to begin training. They will have their equipment inspected along with their ID Card and Identification tags. While the Soldiers are going through their inspection, Parents will be inside, recieving a brief from a 1-78 Battalion NCO subject matter expert. After the brief, you will be able to ask any and all questions and be comfortably informed about your Soldiers safety and training. Once the Soldiers are finished outside and the inside briefing is complete, the Soldiers will be brought inside with the parents and will recieve their inbrief and fill out some paperwork. . . Upon completion of the inbrief, Soldiers and parents will move to the Battery areas where Soldier will recieve their room and linens. The Soldier will change into his/her Army Service Uniform(Graduation Uniform) and be released into the parent's/family's care for the weekend after they complete their portion of in processing, but are restricted to remain in the Fort Sill/Lawton area. Overnight passes are not granted to newly arriving Soldiers and they must report to their assigned battery each night. Each Soldier will be briefed by their leadership on location and time for reporting each night. Visiting establishments that serve alcohol and/or gambling as their primary means of income is strictly prohibited while in uniform. . . Soldiers will recieve their graduation dates and times as well as their transportation times after graduation from their unit and are encouraged to communicate that to their Families back home as soon as possible to help with planning for any Families wishing to attend.
