Detailed description is We provide support, assistance and advocacy to all Asian and Asian Pacific American (A/APA) students and programs through peer education, outreach, mentoring programs and leadership programs! A/APA’s at UVa comprise approximately 16% of the overall student population. There are 40+ contracted independent organizations (CIOs) at the University that are geared towards the needs and interests of A/APA students. The Office of the Dean of Students is proud to support various student run programs and initiatives. These include the following:. . Peer Advising Family Network (PAFN). Asian Pacific American Leadership Training Institute (APALTI). Women’s Asian American Leadership Initiative (WAALI). Leadership retreats for the executive boards of various A/APA organizations (DiAPAson). Asian Pacific American Awareness Week (APAutumn). Asian Pacific American Heritage Month (APAHM).
