I have always wanted to follow in my father’s footsteps when it came to owning my own Construction Company. Being a contractor in the Kirkner family dates all the way back to 1885, with my great-grandfather Robert and his brother Elmer operating Pulaski Tinning Company. . ABAR Homes was founded by my Grandfather, Al Kirkner, my father, Richard Kirkner and my Uncle, Bobby Kirkner in 1976. From the time I was a young child solid family values and doing honest quality work has been engrained in me. I have always wanted to take over ABAR Homes when the time came for my grandfather, father and uncle to retire. In 2011, I officially opened my own Construction Company “Elite Energy Contractors,” in hopes of being as successful as the previous generations of the Kirkner family. I debated naming my company ABAR Home Improvements for a while but decided not to because I wanted to receive the blessing from both my father and uncle before I took on their company name in order to continue the family tradition. I knew I could only receive their blessing, if I showed them l could successfully operate a company on my own. In April 2014, I sat down with both of them and had a heart to heart, which is when I received their blessing to change my company name and begin the process. To me, it was important to contribute to the ABAR Homes name because it has been in the family for so long and I want to carry on the ABAR name for generations to come. . As of June 4th, 2014, the company name has been officially changed with the State of MD as well as the Maryland Home Improvement Commission. The company now operates under the name ABAR Home Improvements. In the coming months, the change from Elite Energy Contractors to ABAR Home Improvements will be complete. We look forward to our continued business with you under our new name and we are confident that we will continue to exceed your expectations as ABAR Home Improvements in the future.. .
