Detailed description is A free community event to bring local agencies, businesses and citizens together, and supply families with everything needed for a Happy Thanksgiving. Operation Free Bird is a community event designed to bring the less-fortunate citizens in the Adams County Colorado area together with local agencies, businesses and organizations. The main idea is to supply any family in need with everything needed for a complete Thanksgiving dinner, thus the name “Operation Free Bird”. This year’s event will be the Thirteenth annual. It was originally a small neighborhood get-together, where local citizens were invited to Connect with Law Enforcement and received a free turkey. The event has grown every year, with approximately 25,000 people expected to attend. . . In partnership with local businesses, agencies and individuals, we supply gift certificates worth $12 at King Soopers, in addition to other food items for a Thanksgiving meal. We also provide free flu shots, medical, dental, hearing and vision screening, career and personal advice, haircuts and child ID kits, free hot dogs and soft drinks, and much more. All at no cost to the attendees. EVERY donated dollar is given right back to the community. .
