Phase I – The Way of Edged Weapons – Covers common misconceptions of knife fighting; uses real-world wound knowledge to establish protocol for both attacking and defending from and for edged weapons. This phase also covers retention and disarm of edged weapons and gives tactical trauma tear explanation when dealing with stab and cut wounds for the professional war fighter, law enforcement or security person. Classroom demonstration will include wounding characteristics and actual flesh targets. Gym work will be done with physical training clothing and rubber training knives or blades.. . Phase II – Dealing with Firearms – The common threat in warzones and in the United States, firearms of all sorts are still a viable threat in Ireland. In this phase we will demonstrate different types of firearms, how they wound/kill, how to disarm an attacker, and how to retain a firearm. Classroom training will comprise realistic weight training guns (not actual firearms; Live weapons training is offered under other classes in long range carbine, pistol, close quarters combat and sniper).. . Phase III – Commutation of Phase I and II – Introduces idea that you don't always fight on a mat, sometimes you are in close quarters (against a wall, inside a car, between cars, around fences and curbs). . .
