Detailed description is The African Studies Program (ASP) at UW is an interdisciplinary program, fostering a better understanding of the African continent and its diaspora Bringing together faculty from every UW location (Seattle, Tacoma, and Bothell), students are invited to take classes from a variety of disciplines. We offer a minor for undergraduate students. Click here to view the requirements for the minor and click here to see the course list for approved minor courses. We are very flexible in accepting credits towards the minor, encouraging students to engage in internships and study abroad programs that are associated with Africa.. . We also foster an academic community for graduate students through our African Studies Colloquium, led by Mary Kay Gugerty, Professor of Public Affairs, which takes place 2-3 times per quarter.
